      How to Start a Session

      For a scheduled session:

Go to your Allia Health dashboard or Google Calendar and click the join link. The session opens in your browser—no downloads required. Inside the session, you’ll still have access to the whole Allia platform: client notes, past assessments, intake forms, calendar.

      For an instant session:

Just go to the client’s profile and click Start Instant Meeting. The session will launch right away, and your client will get the link via email and app (if using it).

      Your Clients Experience

Your client will use the same link to join the session as you. They can click the link to join the telehealth session from their calendar invite, email, or the Allia app.

If your client ever has trouble finding the link, don’t worry. You can quickly copy the URL for the session from your dashboard and resend it via email, secure message, or text.

      FAQ: Telehealth FAQs & Troubleshooting

What if my client can’t find the meeting link?

You can easily resend it. Open the appointment in your dashboard, copy the session URL, and send it manually—by email, text, or secure message through Allia. No need to reschedule.

What happens when I schedule an appointment with my client?

They’ll get a confirmation email with session details and a secure join link. If your Google Calendar is connected, they’ll also receive a calendar invite. If they’re using the Allia app, the link appears right on the home screen and in the appointments section of the mobile app.

What happens if I start an instant session with my client?

Allia sends an automated email with the join link, a calendar invite, and if they’re using the Allia app, the link appears right on the home screen. Clients can join immediately from any of those.

How do I start using Allia with an existing client?

Just add their name and email. Then schedule a session. They'll receive all the info they need the same way a new client would.

Do my clients need to download anything?

No. They can join directly from a browser—no installation needed. We recommend Google Chrome for the best experience.

Do clients need to download the Allia app?

Not required—but it helps. The app makes it easier to find session links, get reminders, sign consent forms, and complete assessments. If they don’t use the app, they can still join via email or calendar.

What if my client can’t find the join link?

You can resend it. Just open the appointment in your dashboard, copy the URL for the session, and send it via email, text, or Allia’s secure messaging.

What if I get disconnected during a session?

If you or your client disconnect during the session (for example, due to internet issues), you can both rejoin using the same link—as long as no one has clicked “End Session.” The session stays active in the background until it’s manually ended. If your client can’t locate the link, you can always copy it from your dashboard and send it manually by email, secure message, or text.
